Mission

The experience of place can awaken the inner self and strengthen its connection with the outer world. I invite you to join me in exploring the nature of place through tools such as image and labyrinth.

If you live in or plan to visit the Washington, DC area, come along on one of my expeditions with the DC Metro Labyrinths & Sacred Spaces Meetup group. Check our calendar of events.

The project that inspired me to create the Place Keepers web site is this citizen workbook, which is offered for free, unrestricted use. Its goals are:

  • to increase awareness of green space and its uses, benefits, and costs
  • to increase understanding of the green space decision-making process that takes place at the community level
  • to promote a sense of appreciation for green space and community ownership of green space issues.

My hope is that civic and environmental groups and parks departments can use this workbook to teach citizens how to “read” the green space around them and get involved in green space issues.

Please contact me if you use the workbook or have suggestions for improving it.
